Are you serious? He was knocked down twice against Mercado and beat him up so badly that they were forced to give Bernard the draw. Hopkins has never been roughed up throughout his whole career. The closest he came to that was when he fought Roy Jones.

I think he realized how Pavlik felt after the fight, and that's why he told Pavlik not to let the fight ruin him. Hopkins is a tough fight for anybody at this stage.
