  • RING magazine's TOP 10 heavyweights by decade

Interesting link that sonny posted in another thread..

What do you guys think about the lists...

I was shocked they had tyson rated number 8 of the 1980s.. That makes no sense to me..
Mike weaver was number 2.. Just doesn't seem right.

Tyson never entered the ratings until 1985

So.... He still did more from 85-89 than all those guys on the list combined sans Holmes... The guy beat everyone except for witherspoon since 1985

I believe they are ranked with regards to the amount of months they were rated within The Ring's top ten over the 120 month period that made up that decade.

Anyone who follows ring magazine are the same type of guys like sonnyboy, who put b.s over substance and guys like Corso who think thst Louis is still the best fighter ,the hardest hitter of all time.Pure comedy ,Holfield struggled against a 43 year old Holmes.

Ok,, that makes alittle more sense,,

Even using that as criteria, I'm still kinda shocked that weaver would be number 2.. I just don't think of him as a fighter that had longevity

Pretty hilarious tbh, Tyson was the only undisputed champions in the 80's, beating 3 holding champs to it, yet he's 8th?

As stated Ring Magazine is suited for the mental midgets like sonnyboy and corso's of the boxing world.
