  • Froch could be stripped of IBF belt...if he don't fight Adonis before Kessler.

Adonis has been made mandatory. IBF could take the belt from Froch. Yvon Michel says negotiations about the Froch-Stevenson should start soon. Froch has 9 months to defend his title. That time runs out february 25'th......hopefully IBF will allow Froch to fight Kessler...

For fighters of Froch's stature, belts really aren't needed.

Fighters like to have them, but everyone knows the deal, with or without a belt.

Froch doesn't need the belt but you know that whoever they give it to will start claiming to be on his level. And some fans will support it and claim Stevenson or Oosthuizen is the best in the weight class and is being ducked and that the division hasn't truly been cleaned out until they fight him etc.

That's what irks me. By Froch keeping the belt it keeps those guys out of the picture until one man can unify.

No doubt Froch is bigger than the belt but as ShoulderRoll alluded to, it means that a lesser figher can then have the opportunity to stake their claim as an elite fighter.

Froch has said that only Bute, Kessler and Ward are on his radar.

I hope they allow Kessler-Froch to happen and then Froch-Stevenson can happen mid-way through this year, June/July time.
