As Pirao said, there's not much in it in terms of total boxing medals.
In any case, that's the totals for the entire period of the Olympic games. In recent years, the US has had an abysmal medal haul while the former Soviet countries have done far better. In the 2008 Olympics, the US medial haul was one bronze!!! So the former Soviet countries are certainly dominating the US big time now.
