  • Comments Thread For: World Boxing Council is Taking Full Aim at The AIBA

The World Boxing Council accuses the AIBA of intervening in the sovereignty
of national commissions of boxing in the world, by requiring their total estrangement
from professional boxing organizations, promoters or any person having a responsibility in professional boxing.

The AIBA also requires these national federations to amend their laws to make the
AIBA the only and highest authority in boxing, so they can only accept their fights and only AIBA professionals are entitled to participate in Olympic Games.

The WBC is shady but what AIBA is doing does amount to a monopoly. They shouldn't be allowed to control which pros compete in the amateurs.

      Corruption calling out corruption.

WBC seem mad they can't get their dirty hands on the amateur boxing market.

Going as far to say to ridicule AIBA as dictatorial - although true - this is the same organisation that released a statement outlining they would investigate Andre Ward's titles for the pure reason of not wanting to pair their title with that of another organisations.

      Hypocrisy much?

after watching London 2012, i came to the conclusion boxing should be replaced by some other sport till it cleans itself up

From one corrupt organization to the next. I don't even know if there is a lesser of two evils in this case.
