  • Comments Thread For: Tecate Rebate In Store For Chavez Jr vs Martinez Bout

    By Jake Donovan

Top Rank and Tecate have once again joined forces to make the next major pay-per-view event as affordable as possible.

Tuesday’s press conference in Los Angeles to formally announce the September 15 pay-per-view event between Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Sergio Martinez came with confirmation that a rebate will be offered with the purchase of their product (12-pack, 18-pack or 24-pack) and the pay-per-view event itself.

“Tecate will be announcing a rebate program,” noted Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum, who presents the middleweight championship along with co-promoter DiBella Entertainment. “If you buy these 12-packs of beer, you get a coupon which reduces the cost of pay-per-view.”

Chavez is not really a champion. You need to beat a champion to be a champion.

I've never even seen a Tecate beer in my life.

On the other hand, Labatt is shipped globally. Why can't Labatt be the beer sponsor? Us east coast guys are more likely to buy Labatts then Tecate.

What's the point of a diamond belt if the regular belt is supposed valued more?

Ortiz - Mayweather had a rebate as well, with over 6,000+ tickets given out for free with free limo rides and buffets and some sources reported it only did around 400k. HBO nor GBP ever released the official numbers.

I guess Floyd found 85 million dollars in a brown paper bag behind the MGM?

Why do Pacquiao fans love talking about Floyd, it's getting kind of annoying
