It's really easy to check on boxrec, Pac didn't move up to LW till way later. Morales was out of shape so took a fight at 135, looked soft. Raheem was not even a good fight Pac missed, not sure why anyone would want that on their tv.

Floyd did 365K with Gatti, 350K with Judah, and 320K with Baldomir.

He and Oscar did 2.45M in 07'. Since then, Floyd has done 920K with Hatton, 1.05M with Marquez, 1.4M with Mosley, 1.25M with Ortiz, and 1.5M with Cotto.

Oscar did 330K with Ruelas, 220K with Genaro, 345K with Gonzalez, 240K with Rivera, 400K with Castillejo, 350K with Campas, 380K with Sturm, and 935K with Mayorga.

Now the big or at the time big names....720K with Whitaker, 560K with Camacho, 525K with Chavez Sr, 570K with Quartey, 1.4M with Trinidad, 590K with Mosley I, 935K with Vargas, 950K with Mosley II, 1.0M with Hopkins, 2.45M with Floyd, and 1.25M with Pacquiao.

So in general, Oscar did similar numbers with the lesser known guys just like Floyd did. Difference is that Floyd transcended into a superstar much quicker once he got his first headline PPV than Oscar did, because Oscar was headlining PPV's most of his career, where as Floyd took about 7 years after he won his title to get to that level.

Floyd has been in more 1.0M+ PPV's than Oscar, 5 for Floyd and 4 for Oscar. The most most PPV's Floyd has sold aside from his Oscar fight was 1.5M with Cotto, more than the 1.4M Oscar did with Trinidad. There's a very real case to be made for Floyd being a bigger PPV star than Oscar.
Ok whatever. My point was, Floyd was not comparable to DLH before they fought. Career max < 400k. Pac had several 350k ppvs pre DLH, and I believe hit 400k with Marquez, which was a record below 135.

Both Floyd and Manny got their HUGE SUPERSTAR status once they beat Oscar. Floyd still did more with Oscar and has continued to do more since. Plus, we don't even actually know what Manny's numbers are. HBO has released his numbers since Margarito, only thing we've heard was what Arum said.

Floyd is a bigger draw, not by that much though based on their ppv history post DLH, according to the best available numbers. Going back to the original point, it's not Floyd that made Pac a ppv draw.

I'd say enough for it to be pointed out. It's no coincidence that Floyd has been involved in the Top 4 highest grossing non-Heavyweight PPV's ever.

              • I just had a epiphany

Trout will give Canelo such a asswooping that it will shock the world, the trout goes nuts and starts talking mad **** about floyd, **** that is soo real that floyd fights trout instead.

Trout beats down floyd and embarres him over 12 rounds, then floyd commits suicide:wank::wank::wank:

                • If Floyd ducked Margarito, Manny ducked Raheem and/or Guzman.

Looks like he moved up earlier, maybe he couldn't make weight. Didn't keep close tabs on a guy that never even managed a paper title his entire career, lost his next fight, and had the least watchable style in boxing. You realize Pac Morales 2 was a ppv (action good, running/holding bad), and that Pac might have wanted to avenge his defeated to ATG Morales?
