I have a soft spot for Drive but Refn isnt spotless...his movie Valhalla was pretty bad.

Hoping he is hitting his stride and we can get a couple of more very good movies.

I think he found his niche with Drive.

Gosling is a drug smuggler in SE Asia, and his brother was recently murdered. He has a front for his drug operations, a thai boxing club. And his mother wants him to find and kill the guy responsible for his brothers death.

Critics are Cannes apparently were walking out and booing, so I don't know. The trailer looks good, Drive was good, but this is getting terrible reviews so far.
