I feel like that about Gamboa also, hes not going to just develop a defense, why would he? He has all that ****ing power. But of those guys i named, the only guys in the game right now that ISNT over 30 are Mijares and Donaire. I hope Hasegawa gets some more big wins and shows his face a bit more because i respect that guys fight game alot. But like you said, those other guys are over 30 or about to be 40 in some instances. The days of the Pure Boxer are slowly leaving us. At any given era, we had about 3 or 4 or 5 masters active, now we have just a few, soon i fear we may have 0, and PBF leaving leaves a huge void in that department. That guy was dedicated to the craft, and not many of these guys are really schooling themselves like he did anymore.
I think it s worse than that. I think that the further back you go in time, the larger the number of masters you find. Which would mean there is a trend, which means that after 1 comes 0.
Isnt it crazy the way Gamboa fights, even though he comes from Cuba? I would expect him to be more polished.
