The guy accuses me of being republican- i said i believed in bernie but that doesn't mean that immigration laws shouldn't be upheld and that i dont believe in the corrupt criminal called hillary.

The poster then comments that "what is the problem of sectors of the nation only speaking spanish?"- I said how do you expect americans to respect us if we dont even bother speaking the official language.

Y, como ya conoces, Florida es bilingüe en todo menos oficialmente. Igual como no puedes violentarle los derechos a los hawaianos, tampoco se puede contra los demás. Y se debe destacar que muchos migrantes e inmigrantes sí quieren aprender inglés, pero recuerda que vienen de lugares, incluyendo Puerto Rico, donde ese privilegio no se encontraba. Empáticamente, eso se debe de entender.

Si hablas de respeto, hay que respetar la diversidad dentro de los Estados Unidos, la cual siempre ha sido un pilar dentro de su unión. Si los otros me llegasen a entender, ya este debate estaría por terminado. Pero, si quieres estirarlo, tienes derecho a eso.

I'm a Bernie supporter on many issues, but not on immigration. I like his ideas on education and health care but everything else should be left to capitalism. There's no excuse for the countless amounts of immigrants that contribute nothing and get all the benefits.

As I stated previously, immigrants already go through background checks. A basic Google search would clarify that for you. The hatred toward minorities spreading throughout the United States correlates with what's causing your own blaming of them: misinformation. If you liked Bernie, then it doesn't make any sense that you don't know by now how many lies the elite tell our population. They are the source of the problems, and then they go around blaming it all on immigrants. Just as how they discriminate against them, they would discriminate against you, were they provided the opportunity.

As to the language issue, the United States is what's known as a "melting pot." There's nothing wrong with spanish-speaking communities. Actually, that's awesome, because there are millions of Americans in Puerto Rico who speak Spanish as their primary language. Do you know what that means? It means that not all Americans are born and raised speaking English. Hence, you cannot justify language discrimination. Moreover, the United States does not have an official language, and even Hawaii is officially a bilingual state. Other states, such as Louisiana, Maine, and New Mexico, also have bilingual policies in place. And, as you already know, Florida is a bilingual state in everything but official law. Just as you cannot violate the rights of Hawaiians to freely speak a language, you cannot do this to others. It's also worth pointing out that many migrants and immigrants do wish to learn English, but you must remember that they come from places where that privilege isn't available, including Puerto Rico. With a little empathy, this should be something easy to understand.

If you're talking about respect, diversity within the United States must be respected, for it has always been a pillar to its union. Were the others to understand me, this debate would be over. But, if you wish to keep going, you have a right to do so.

(I mentioned that last part to basically let TS know that I was showing mercy to him, from the beginning, by solely using Spanish, so as to convince him without causing embarrassment, debate-wise. Unfortunately, he must have misunderstood that as my admitting some sort of "weak point" with regard to communication in English. -_- Experiencing a check-mate, TS apparently chose to attempt to get rid of me by "exploiting" that imagined flaw, in claiming that I must leave because I had used Spanish, and thereby TS "ignored" all the points made.
