    1973... Foreman vs. Frazier

George Foreman easily destroys Joe Frazier inside 2 rounds dropping him few times before KO.

    1974 March... Foreman vs. Norton

Big George Foreman beats up & destroys Ken Norton inside 2 rounds

MUHAMMAD ALI after the Foreman Norton fight calls out Foreman explains how he is gonna beat him.

Ali admits Foreman is stronger & hits harder but he is not good scientific boxer as he is when it comes to boxing ability and speed. Also promise to retire Foreman.

Foreman looked totally awful versus Ali. There wasn't any skill involved from him except cutting off the ring...

As a result gets KO'd by Ali

Why did it happen? Why Foreman destroyed both Frazier and Norton in 2 rounds but gets KO'ed by Ali?

        Interesting thread.

Back in the pre-global, domestic bum era of boxing (1970s) you never really knew what to expect. There wasn't a whole lot of planning or strategy.

Styles and a great, tough performance from Ali. Frazier and Norton played right into Foreman's strengths. Ali did not. Same reason Ali struggled with Frazier and Norton, they're styles played into Ali's weaknesses.

It doesn't hurt that Ali is the best heavyweight ever, either.

He gassed out. He threw so many unnecessary punches. That was Foreman then though. He didn't have much thought to his attack. He wanted to go in there and kill Ali.

Hmm... Foreman says modern era is much better than his era. And Mayweather is probably the best ever.

                Apparently styles make fights.

All these Ali>Foreman>Frazier/Norton>Ali just proves it.

                  Style makes fights.

Frazier came forward against a guy much bigger and stronger than him.

                  Ali didn't.

Ali took him into deep waters and drowned him.
