Sauerland Event, the promotional company that represents Mikkel Kessler (43-2, 32KOs), has confirmed that a huge offer has been sent to WBO super middleweight champion Robert Stieglitz (39-2, 23KOs) to face Kessler in a June title clash in Denmark. BT reports the offer was over three million Danish kroner.

If Kessler beat Lucian Bute there would be a good chance of a three-belt unification (WBC-WBA and IBF) when Kessler exercises his right as WBC emeritus champion.

Why isn't Team Sauerland pursuing that fight?

Do you believe Bute would come to Denmark?

Steiglitz is a typical German overprotected bum. Kessler is not much better, he is and always was highly mediocre. Irrelevant euro match up.

cant wait for the viking warrior to come back. I so wish he never had all these injury problems and sough help from a decent trainer such as manny steward who would have helped him out with his boxing style. he could have beaten all the guys beetween MW-LHW if he never suffered from numerous injury's and poor coaching.

We won't know until Team Sauerland makes him the offer. But they won't.

I'd be ok with that. The WBO belt has kinda been hijacked since Joe retired. Kessler brings back some credibility to it. Then he should unify with Bute and winner fights the Super Six winner.

Oh wait....thats never going to happen.

I don't like Bute at all, but he holds the title so why should he come to Denmark? Kessler is the challenger so if Bute doesn't want to travel you can't call it a duck.

Is it worth making Bute an offer? He has never fought out of his comfort zone and has earlier flat out refused to fight Kessler.

Besides; Stieglitz is a much better comeback opponent. Kessler can take on Bute later when he is back into his groove.
