  • Comments Thread For: Broner Confirms He Will Face Malignaggi For WBA Title

It appears a fight with Adrien "The Problem" Broner (26-0, 22KOs) and Paulie Malignaggi (32-4, 7KOs) will indeed be taking place in June at the welterweight limit as Broner himself broke the news earlier tonight.

Broner was on hand at the Argenis Mendez-Juan Carlos Salgado fight card in Costa Mesa and was brought into the ring for the live crowd. When he took the mic he informed everyone in attendance that he would be making a move up to welterweight for his next fight and Malignaggi would be his opponent.

BoxingScene.com spoke to Broner afterwards and he confirmed that his next bout would be at a different weight class. [Click Here To Read More]

Good fight.. better than Burns fight. I rate Burns too.. but Malignaggi is bigger and better.

Ducking Vazquez, Abril and the entire 140 division to fight one of the weakest champs in anyweight class.

The cherry picking ways of his idol have rubbed off on him

Im impressed. This is hell of a lot better than a fight against Burns, Abril's boring ass and Vazquez who's with TR.

All of 140 is tied up right now anyway, why not go up and get that strap and then take care of the 140 guys. I hope this dude isnt moving too fast though.

Bum ass fight. Establish yourself at 140, and fight some good fighters. Moving up to 147 is only a facade. Looks good because he's moving up to 147, but it's against Mallinagi. C'mon man.

                It's Not a Duck People!

First off, every realistic fight but Burns at 135 stinks out loud. For those of you wanting to see Vasquez, seriously actually watch his fights and tell me you think networks want to pay for him against Broner?

Secondly, IF he beats Paulie, he has a belt in the same class as Mayweather. You seriously don't think every guy at 140 would jump at the chance to fight him at 147 and have a belt in the same class as Floyd and be in a great position to face Floyd if the beat Broner?

Seriously, think before you call someone a ducker.

You mean Broner would have a chance at fighting Floyd if he beats Paulie right???

No chance in Hell that fight goes down.
