NUEVA YORK – El monarca de las 147 libras de la Organización Mundial de Boxeo (OMB), Miguel Cotto, ha hecho cambios en su estilo anteriormente. Pero el sábado en la noche se podría ver otro cambio, según dijo ayer su nuevo grupo de trabajo.

Por su parte, y en su habitual estilo sobrio, Cotto se limitó a decir que vencerá a su contrincante y retador Joshua Clottey, lo que no es menos ni mucho más de lo que se espera diga previo a sus peleas.

Así dijo en torno a su pelea sabatina en la conferencia de prensa del cartel celebrada aquí ayer. Sus otras palabras fueron dirigidas a saludos protocolares.

Pero su grupo de trabajo, sobre todo su nuevo entrenador, Joe Santiago, cambió un poco el estilo respetuoso y hermético de Cotto al hablar en la conferencia de prensa.

Santiago dijo que ha podido poner su firma sobre el estilo de boxeo del monarca.

“Y a Joshua Clottey”, dijo dando un giro al estilo sobrio del grupo, “si se dio cuenta que hemos traído hasta aquí la correa de campeón, es porque no la va a volver a ver”.

Posterior a la conferencia, Cotto dijo que Santiago se manejó bien en la conferencia, aunque tal vez sintió un poco los nervios por su debut público. Fue Cotto quien nombró a Santiago tras el despido de su tío y manejador, Evangelista Cotto, y el del asistente Miguel Díaz.
After the conference, Cotto said that Santiago manage the situation very well during the conference, but maybe he was a little nervous because it was his public debut. it was Cotto who name Santiago after he fired trainer/uncle Evangelista and also cut man/ assistant Miguel Diaz.
Santiago, sin embargo, se mantuvo en el plan prepelea de Cotto al no dar detalles sobre qué cambios ha traído al grupo de Cotto.

Clottey ha dicho que no sabe cuál Cotto se presentará a pelear el sábado, si el boxeador o el peleador.

Lo que se especula es que el cambio que pueda dar Cotto para esta pelea es hacia el lado del boxeador.
