If you're thinking now of getting the flu shot don't bother. The vaccine this year failed and the season is expected to be over in 2 to 3 weeks...it takes 4 weeks for the vaccine (when it works) to immunize you.

It's no secret some people who get the flu shot get sick, but would you rather have a few days being miserable compared to a week? Possibly getting hospitalized? Maybe even dying?

Of course people die, alot of people have had the flu as I have and it's no fun. You don't want to get out of the bed, body is sore, taking a hot shower hurts.

My great aunt smoked 40 cigarettes a day and lived past 90. This anecdote nullifies all medical research about the effects of smoking!

Relying on personal anecdotes for medical advice is like claiming that all films are about evil cookies and star Gary Busey because the only film you have ever seen is Gary Busey's the Ginger-Dead Man.

We Mexicans don't get no fancy Flu shot. All we need is Vaporub, couple shots of Tequila, some sopa and if we want to get fancy we buy Nyquil.

Flu shots are for the weak and elderly. A healthy adult should not be having one.

Unless you are a high risk group you don't need a flu shot.
That said people underestimate what real flu is due to the stupid marketing of Lemsip, night nurse sudafed etc.
It also shows how blinkered and annoying the media is focusing on Ebola here in the UK over much more common causes of death.
