Idk about Smith bypassing a Kovalev rematch, but Smith is for sure a player at 175 now. I mean he was arguably already a player after the Fonfara W, but this W over a future HOFer insures he's getting a bigger opportunity sometime next year if not next. And rightfully so if you win you should get your opportunity against a higher class opponent UFC style.
