  • Should GGG Have Been Disqualified for Hitting Lemieux When He Was Down?

Golovkin hit Lemieux flush when he was down on the canvas but didn't even get a point deducted by the referee. Although it may well have been accidental, Roy Jones was quick to remind us in his commentary that he was actually disqualified from a fight for doing exactly the same thing to an opponent.

So an interesting question to ponder. should Golovkin have been disqualified by the referee for hitting an opponent while he was down, just like the legendary Roy Jones Jr was?

yes, roy jones did the same thing and got DQ,hence his comment on the broadcast

however,if the ****boy ass ref wasnt gonna take points,at the very least he should have let David recover as if it was a low blow,,i mean it was a blatant foul

no, but if he did couldn't complain.

Plenty of fighters hit a boxer when they were down. some got DQ other didnt.

Has anyone actually seen Jones get DQ'd against Griffin?

          It was quite different.

Lemieux got up and didnt pretend to fall asleep. Why would the ref DQ GGG if his opponent got up?

No. It wasn't like he was losing and did something dirty out of desperation. Zab hitting Floyd low and the back of the head was worse.

Jones actually punched Griffin two times while he was down.
