I would have to go with Billy Conn in a very close fight.

Even in defeat,this would show how great SRR was!

What I see as a flaw in your premiss is that Robinson fought only one time in a light-heavyweight match, and weighed only about 155 lbs, maybe a little more, and after the fight was found to have lost about 10 more lbs. In other words he was at very most, a natural middleweight, perhaps only a lt.-middleweight.

So considering that Billy Conn, although a natural lt. heavyweight, had successfully fought heavyweights, including the great Joe Louis, it would not be a good or fair match.

Pound for pound, I think Robinson would have been better, but head to head I vote for Conn. On points.
