so if you're the coach, you would bench your best defensive anchor when the opponent start fouling him?

you won't let him fight through it for him to be ready come playoff time?

you play with what you have on your roster. never play on oppponents hand. they were fouling your best defensive player/worst FT shooter for a reason.

the thing is, you would keep in your best defensive player if his defense was actually impacting the game. and in this case, the Lakers would have had to make some defensive stops in order to make the Magic pay for fouling Howard. But they couldn't even do that. And if Lakers can't stop the Magic from scoring, than what are they gonna do against teams like Spurs, Thunder, Grizzlies?

If they didn't have a guy like Gasol than they would have no choice but to play Howard. But they do have Gasol so they have the luxury of making that decision. It wouldn't be a bad move IMO.

i get your drift, but gasol is also laying eggs and slow to rotate in that particular game. the shooters were the one who kills the lakers, not the post players.

"you have to learn to crawl before you learn to walk". let dwight learn in the flow of the game, because as what his teammates and coaches attest, he hits great amount of FT during practice.. it's all in his mind during game..
