they have been used in modern times in just about every conflict that involves a modern army with modern tank , ship and aircraft weaponry.

people have been advocating using tungsten carbide sabots instead but they are far less effective and some studies have shown they are actually might have worse side effects in the environment.

depleted uranium are mainly used in anti-tank cannons and guns and used against armored targets.

i doubt they've used very much of it in iraq except in the beginning of the war when the iraqis still had tanks and armored vehicles.

depleted uranium rounds are not very effective in urban warfare. they are only useful in armored warfare.

true ...A10 warthogs uses depleted uraniums I think they're the only one's who uses them.I have not heard any cavalry using them.but I could be wrong.
