old foreman was better than young...but scarier guy if you are fighting them...young Tyson he wanted to break stuff....young foreman was predictable and sloppy...you couldn't run from Tyson and that one punch speed power you don't see coming...how is this even debatable.

There are a lot of nutbag posters around here that skew the voting obviously..

Truth is that young Foreman, when viewed by the average person on the street, is regarded as a bit of a joke.

When you show them and then tell them that this was once the HW champion of the world and that he is revered by old time nut bags as the hardest hitter of all time, they begin to chuckle and accuse you of being an alcoholic and then when they realise your serious, feel sorry for the old school boxing community and put the lack of observational analysis down to permanent brain damage from years of boxing.

But those SAME people, when asked about Tyson out of prison, don't need to see him again. They remember. And not one of them would have wanted to bump into that guy in a dark alley under any circumstances.

Foreman was smarter and paced himself better in his 2nd career, but better overall in his first career.

In the 90s, he barely squeaked by Alex Stewart, whose own manager publicly questioned his abilities after his stoppage losses to Tyson and Moorer. Stewart turned Foreman's face to mush.

Foreman was soundly outboxed by Tommy Morrison and Alex Schultz. Other than his comeback win over Michael Moorer, his most notable wins in his comeback were against Adilson Rodriguez (who was a contender, but lost a lot of momentum when he was flattened by 1 punch from Holyfield), Gerry Cooney (hadn't won a fight in over 3 years), and Pierre Coetzee (had even stopped in his last 2 fights).

Foreman did deserve the win over Shannon Briggs, but that pales in comparison to dominating wins over Joe Frazier and Ken Norton.

I think Tyson lost it after the first Holyfield fight. He still had it after the Douglas fight, but Holyfield really showed he was human.

Also emotional wrecks can be very dangerous people lol
