  • This is the PROBLEM in boxing, you gota wait SOOOO LONG between fights!!!!!

Probably the main reason it will never compare to sport such as soccer. I mean fans have to wait like 3-4 months between fights, and that just for a fight , for your favourite boxers well nowdays 1 fight a year , 2 if if your luck!!! Where as soccer well u gota like 3 games a week.

Also PPV fkin don't help. Go back to cable tv or something, free to air would even be better but highly unlikely!!!

Not really. Maybe you have to wait a long time between blockbuster fights like Pac - Cotto and Mayweather - Marqez, but then again how often do Manchester and Liverpool play each other?

There's always a ton of fights Thursday - Saturday. People just don't watch them because they aren't huge names.

That being said, if you have Showtime, HBO, and ESPN you can watch at least a couple fights a week.

Edit: And if you have the internet (which I assume you do) you can watch a ton of fights online if you study up on where to find them.

You hit the nail right on the head; this is one of the biggest reasons, IMO, that boxing has trouble bringing in fans and retaining them. Waiting for your favorite fighter to fight, is like when you were a kid and you were waiting for Christmas or your birthday….

True but also im sayign how often does your facourite boxer fight a year??? 2-3 at max. Where as soccer your team plays at least once a week, hence increasing interest from young fans on a weekly basis!!!

Maybe you could watch these up and comers and find a second, third, fourth and fifth favorite fighter.

When you find a prospect you like it's great because when they are new to boxing and up and coming, they tend to fight about 4-6 times a year.

            Korobooooov!

Also: Keep in mind these guys fight for a living. They need time to lay back and heal, and then time to get back in shape.

If anything boxing is so great because there isn't a season. It doesnt start in the winter and end in the spring, it's always there.
