Now getting into socialized medicine, did the US cross that line? Not really and maybe so. It is still taken care of by big business (insurance companies) but has more Gov't checks and balances in place to keep them honest.

The question every American who rejects the proposal should ask themselves is this. Would it be better for the Government to oversee healthcare or let big business (Insurance Companies) dictate who gets care and who don't? Who do you trust more really?

That is what it all comes down to. Change is not always a bad thing as long as other checks and balances remain in place.
This isn't about one or the other.

The feds are working in tandem w/ the private insurance industry here. Its a joint effort.

Obama promised he was going to fundamentally transform this country.

This is just a drop in the bucket though, the worst by far, is yet to come.

The gov. have been working in tandem w/ the Federal Reserve for almost 100 years in robbing you blind.

Now they are teaming up w/ private insurance to squeeze the last remaining drops of blood out of you.

That is what bugs me a bit. Insurance companies are still involved. It is still a middle man bent and determined on making a profit. In that situation there are going to be people who will suffer because of it.

I think the US should have just went full tilt. Introduce a sales tax to fund it and left insurance there for those who feel they want extended "special" care that they feel socialized medicine lacks.

And since the Gov is forcing them to accept everyone, even the 800 lb guy that smokes 5 packs a day, and putting limits on what they can charge, that money will have to come from those of us that are low risk.

Yeah I can see your concern.

What the world needs to face is reality. Here in North America we still have it relatively good. I mean I can go out and buy what I want, have money to spend as well as own a home and have a great family. As time does on though, we will have less and less expendable income and will revert back to working just to get by. It is like that now for many. What happens with our kids? Or their kids when they get sick and cannot afford to pay big business for basic health care?

We have it good here in Canada in that we don't have to worry about that issue as much. We pay our 8% sales tax on items and are done with it. It sounds scary to anyone facing a new sales tax, but you get used to it to a point where you don't even notice it.

The sales tax method would be fine by me. I think health care is a fundamental human right.

The way its being imposed in the U.S is a different animal though.
