Thats the way boxing is. The casual fan remembers "down goes frazier" much more than they do him knocking down Ali. Ricky Hatton, Schmeling,Tyson, Duran, PWill etc etc.

No matter what people on this board post or how they edit wikipedia, they can't change how boxers are remembered. Unfortunately for Manny (and his fans) it will be:

"oooooh Jim he's not getting up"

That's how I remember Hatton because he never came back to do anything great to erase that from our minds. He tried! But I still have that image in my head.

Pretty sure most people will remember him as being an action packed fighter.

Look at Mike Tyson, he was knocked out as well but most people remember him as being that vicious guy who would KO people in one round.

Take this photo of President Obama and the first lady:

Once this photo was tweeted it made history and created a lasting image. Similarly the image of Manny Pacquiao lying on his face created a lasting image in not just boxing but all of sports:

To boxing fans the image of the "invincible" Manny Pacquiao lying on his face was unthinkable, therefore the image itself was made even more potent. It's a shame that this is the image that will dominate his career but it will, just as the man that caused it has been a thorn is Manny's side for years. The rivalry between the two fighters has really defined both of their careers and for one to have such a powerful and emphatic victory over the other tips the scales, that were even, more profoundly in Marquez's direction.

This image of Pacquiao will forever dominate his career.
unless he fights floyd and knocks him out im sure that would be an interesting photo

There is abit of irony here, the topic is about casual fans remembering pacman. Yet it is the guys on here that call themselves 'true fans' go gaga over pacquiao getting ko'd. Its like they have never seen a Ko before. As a pacman fan and a boxing aficionado. I got over the fight about a week after, because that's one of the sacrifices boxers have to pay. But all those that love to hate are in actual fact the 'casual fans'. Its a disgrace, they laugh and jeer those that get KO'd like that. Especially with those Bobsled things! Y'all should learn to respect.

Casuals will remember the KO. True boxing fans will never forget he was the guy who Mayweather ducked.

yeah like people remember duran was an ATG and not no mas. No matter how hard you try this KO will be ingrained in people's memory.

Hey it works both ways too. The 1st thing people remember about Buster Douglas is he knocked Tyson out. When something happens tht you never thought would, it stays with you.
