  • [HOLY S**T!] 38 dead as NATO helicopter crashes in Afghanistan

A total of 31 members of the US special forces have died in a helicopter crash in eastern Afghanistan along with seven Afghans, a statement from Afghan President Hamid Karzai's office said.

"The president of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai expressed condolences over a NATO helicopter crash and the deaths of 31 members of US special forces," today's statement statement said.

The crash late today represents the biggest death toll in a single incident for international forces in Afghanistan since the start of the war in 2001.

Seven Afghans were also killed in the crash, the statement said, taking the total death toll in the incident to 38.

The Afghan defence ministry said they were also special forces.

"This helicopter crashed in Wardak province last night, as a result of which including the crew members, 31 personnel of American special forces lost their lives," the presidential statement said.

Copters' are known to malfunction but this is the worst. It was one only right? Must have been a pavelow, the amount of money they cost, they shouldn't fcking malfunction unless there's more to this story...

ah, it was a Chinook, still there's got to be more to this. Wonder if any anti aircraft guns played a part. Clearly, 31 SFs on one copter means something big was going down

probably got shot down but they dont want to say that because people will kick up a fuss,so they take the easy route out every time, blame it on a crash so no one can be blamed.

Maybe the US shouldn't have occupied their country on false pretenses then.

It's unfortunate about the soldier's death's, but war is war and a whole hell of a lot more Afghanis are dead because of it. And we have our nobel piece prize winner to thank for intensifying the war, which is now the longest US war in history. Also, considerably more US soldiers have died under Obama in Afghanistan than died during 8 years of Bush.

            Just saying.
