GGG being "ducked" isnt a good enough excuse for his resume when mike McCallum was 2

What difference does it make that GGG got a couple of championship belts that he didn't win in the ring? He was there ready to fight for the belt and the guy who was supposed to fight him chickened out. He got the belt without having to fight for it which he would have preferred to do. How in the hell is that GGG's fault? It just clearly illustrates that boxers ducking him is no myth. GGG would have been a huge favorite to beat the guys who gave him the belts anyway.

Has a boxing nerd posted the list of guys who've avoided GGG & the list of guys who've avoided McCallum & then what was left for them to fight & the weights those guys were at? I'd assume that would kill this thread. Who is the Sumbu & Toney of today's 160lbs?
I also don't think McCallum "moved up" to 160 from 154 so much as he was a guy who was 160 that could make 154. I don't think GGG can make 154 like McCallum could make 154. Thats speculation, but its speculation based on him likely not weighing 154 or less since he was 20yrs old. McCallum had several fights in the 154, 160 & 168 divisions during & before his 154 reign early in his career.
Its also notable that McCallum had no meaningful fight at SMW or LHW til he was 37 (Jeff Harding) so give GGG 3 more years before you have a pissing contest with GGG & McCallum as far as this topic goes.Last edited by Eff Pandas; 05-23-2016, 10:43 AM.

Their opinions carry a lot more weight than your hate filled, bias opinion does. GGG could retire today and without a doubt be a first ballet inductee in the Hall of Fame and there isn't a thing you can do about it. Why are you so pathetically desperate to convince Boxing Scene that GGG doesn't deserve the praise he gets? Are you so stupid that you don't understand that GGG haters already agree with you and not a single GGG fan will change their mind because of the idiotic garbage you post about him. You start thread after annoy thread unfairly and untruthfully trashing this great fighter. You are so desperate to try to make GGG look bad that you bring up great fighters from the past 70 years that have nothing to do with him. Why is it so important to you that this forum hates GGG as much as you do? Give your bull**** GGG hate threads a rest and let Boxing Scene members form their own opinion about him because they will anyway. GGG is an undefeated and rightfully respected star and all your winning and crying won't change that fact.
i dont have to try and make him look bad. His resume with the hype does that.
Boxers and trainers and fans acknowledge his talent but his resume is lacking and the hype doesnt amount to what he has actually done in RING. Many DO NOT rank him top 3 p4p. many dont so deal with it. Koing bums wont cut it.
Deal with it....you brought up ward but ward has won every title he had IN THE RING and has actually fought A class fighters, will be fighting Kov in november while you're boy will be fighting an opponent you'll have to google.

whats a bigger accomplishment...beating the champion or titleholder or having it handed to you.
you know there is a difference. You get more respect for earning things not things being handed to you.
I never said him being ducked is a myth, his team doesnt want to fight certain fighters for whatever reason but will fight other ones. they play risk vs reward like everyone else. boxing is a business.
