What is with the notion that USA is all that matters in boxing?

The majority of the elite fighters recognized by history hail from the States. Historically the best fighters in the world are Americans, just go check any respectable list. No other nation has an answer for Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray, Joe Louis, Jack Dempsey etc.

America is not ALL that matters. Though noone can deny it is quite important.

However, it is not impossible to become a superstar and a very rich man without leaving Europe.

Yes but its impossible to become P4P best or to be universally recognized as a great without fighting in the USA its easy to win the home country fan base the media take care of that , thats a longway short of world recognition , its much tougher competition to come through the amateur tryouts and pro ranks in the US than say in the UK and hype only goes so far with a fighter .
What gets me in these debates is that the fighters and trainers and all hands on people know you got to conquer the USA to conquer the world , its only some fans that say you dont have or shouldnt have to , bottom line is the best fighters fight in the USA , in status it IS the mecca of world boxing because of its history , popularity and the class of fighter that comes out of the USA every year which makes the USA the top of the mountain , you got to look at the big picture in this .
