  • Losses that initially look bad, but look much more respectable later on

What are some examples of losses where it looks bad at first because the opponent is a "bum" "subpar" etc, but that opponent goes on to have a much better career? For example, Robert Guerrero losing to Orlando Salido (yes, I know it was reversed to a NC, but it was a loss at the time), which looked bad at the time, but Orlando Salido went on to beat Juanma twice, thus making that loss for Guerrero look much more respectable. Same thing for Cotto vs Trout. Cotto was supposed to beat him, but if Trout goes on to have a great career, that loss doesn't look so bad in the long term.

Salido also went on to look better than his record showed against Gamboa. He was outboxed but it was competitive. Gamboa is just on another level. Gamboa went on to destroy Solis and beat Ponce De Leon comfortably.

The Ghost is allot tougher than people think! People who dont know boxing think its an easy fight for Floyd! It will be like Floyd vs a bigger stronger, faster, more durable version of hatton! If Floyd struggles/loses to him, then he goes on to beat the crap out of other ww's, I think Floyd will get credit! But he wont get credit right away! People will say he struggled against a lightweight bum.

Good post. Floyd definitely isn't going to have an easy day with the Ghost. The type of swarming fight against Berto is the only chance the Guerrero has. If he can pull it off effectively, Floyd is going to have a long night. Should Floyd more than likely win, he wont get the credit he deserves until Ghost really starts rocking the WW division, which he will in due time.

Also the punch output! Floyd dont really have that power, to get respect with potshot counters! Robert will eat it like puppy snacks, and outpunch him with 8punch flurry! All dangerous for Floyd.

Josesito's stock went up against Canelo IMO
Even though he got stopped, he showed there wasn't a difference in skill but size. Despite being completely outmatched he was extremely courageous.

Although it was after he lost... I always thought Winky Wright disnt get enough credit for beating mosley and as time went by those losses were looked at with respect for Shane stepping up against a very good underrated fighter.
