  • Cotto was shot in 2012 but is a fighter of the year calibre opponent in 2015

Its a trip how the boxing media and so called fans flip flop

Cotto was supposedly damaged goods after his loss to Pacquiao in 09 when Mayweather beat him in 2012 he was supposedly shot...now all of a sudden Cotto is rejuvenated because he got with Freddie Roach and got some wins under his belt

He just lost to Canelo last month and Canelo is winning some publications fighter of the year

Why is it that a win over Cotto is such a big deal for Canelo, but when Mayweather beat him, he beat a shot fighter??

which one is it? Has he been shot since 09.....shot since 2012....or he was still Cotto all along?

I didnt realize how high of a standard Mayweather has been held to, until you see someone else beat his leftovers

It started when Hatton beat JLC....When Manny beat DLH and Hatton....and now Canelo

it means little when Floyd beats someone, yet when someone else does after the fact, it becomes the best thing since sliced bread

Agreed 100%. Only the complete delushional believed Cotto was somehow on some second high in his career. He was not but opponents picked very percicely

And beating Manny who was viciously knocked out and lost back to back fights pretty recently and hasn't had a knock out in 6 years (for a fighter who was a knockout artist in his prime) makes Floyd fighter of the year? Cotto looked much better in his last 3 fights then Manny has looked in years and is younger. If cotto was washed up before stepping in the ring then what was a one armed Manny who was put to sleep already by Marquez?

I don't care who's fault it was. My point is its dumb for Floyd fans to call cotto washed to discredit canelos win when under every measurable possible Manny has signs of being more washed up then cotto. Cotto was dominant in his 3 wins with new trainer roach while you have to go back half a decade to find a KO win from manny. And he didn't lose a decision like cotto did he was put to sleep and hasn't looked the same since. That wasn't a prime manny and he was gimpy with a bum shoulder to boot.

If cotto was washed up then what that make Manny who was older and more worn out? In his prime he didn't go 2 fights without a knockout. It's been 6 years and 10 fights without a knockout. Last thing I want to hear is Floyd fans complain about someone fighting a washed up fighter.

From 2012-2015, Manny, despite the KO loss, was never ranked below #5 p4p in almost all respectable p4p lists. Cotto, during the same time period, was never as highly ranked.

Now you can argue he wasn't at his peak, but its odd that you and others proclaimed him rejuvenated and a real threat to Floyd after the Algieri win.

Mayweather is 38 and Manny is 36, neither is in their prime, thats a given genius...both are all time greats and first ballot hall of famers...they were probably 70% of what they were in the 2000s but that percentage beats 90% of the fighters their size

                1) Manny just beat p4p number 3 Bradley doe...so that put you tards foot in your Mouth....Cotto hasnt beat a fighter as good as Bradley in sometime....Geale, Rodriguez and a used up Martinez arent on Bradley's level

                2) Manny was top 2-3 p4p doe, and just beat an undefeated titleholder in Algieri doe

                3) Manny is faster, his footwork, the angles doe...Floyd never fought anyone like that

                4) Seriously, Manny was top 5 p4p and Floyd number one.....a win over Pac> a win over Cotto

The only ones who are saying Cotto was shot are the ones who would do anything to discredit Floyd and the Cotto fans who suck the farts out of his ass on a daily basis.

Cotto did not look shot at all in that fight. Sure, he might have faded a little since 2008 but saying he was shot is ridiculous.
