No, it won't. His southpaw stance will be the biggest factor in this fight. If he was a righty he would never have gotten close to being this far along in his career.

Against Mayweather, that will play the biggest role in the fight. If Mayweather can't adapt to the southpaw stance and struggles to block or see the right hook and straight left, then Pac has a huge chance of taking it.

If Mayweather does better than he has in the past against those shots, then he will win. It really comes down to how well he can adjust to the southpaw angles and punches. The speed isn't a factor. Pac isn't as fast as people think he is. He is fast of course, that goes without saying, but he doesn't have Ray Leonard or even earlier Mayweather speed. It's his angles and combination punching that confuse people.

Fighting from the lefty stance makes the punches come from angles that very few are used to at all and have probably never faced before. A right hook coming zinging over the top of a left hook? It rarely gets trained for and you hardly ever see it. That's the biggest thing here.

here's a video for you to watch (for the sake of this post, it's Zab's highlights, not Floyd's highlights). we know FLoyd took over eventually after Zab was choked out by Floyd's corner men.

at :35, mayweather reaches for the body. Boom, check hook from Zab (KD)..which Manny has proven he can get Knockdowns with (Did it to Hatton pretty easily).

:46, Zab power left hand to the gut of Floyd lands pretty flush. Manny's ALSO proven he can land that shot (on Cotto), not just to the body, but to the CHIN as well.

1:24 Zab feigns a couple jabs, then smashes through Floyd's conventional guard with a straight left.

1:42....jab jab, STRAIGHT smashes Floyd AGAIN (which much to his credit, Floyd EATS rather easily...the guy has a rock solid chin). Did you see why it made it through? Floyd went into a shoulder roll defense for a split second. Zab had him hurt with those earlier punches to the body, causing Floyd to drop his defense. SHOULDER ROLL DEFENSE DOES NOT WORK Vs. SOUTHPAWS!!!!

5th round...look at Floyd not wanting to open up. He could be reading Zab's style here (Zab starts doing this waving his hands **** that never works with Floyd), but it looks to me like Floyd was afraid to open up. And then comes the riot. How fortunate.

Zab's Southpaw stance and (hand and foot) speed made it through Floyd's conventional guard and made the fight ugly for Floyd. Floyd even reverted to rolling his shoulder by INSTINCT...which is the absolute wrong thing to do vs. a southpaw.

            so..

            - Jab jab, left straight made it through the guard and to Floyd's face.
            - Straights to the body made it through.
            - Hooks to the gut made it through.

Floyd was flustered pretty badly. Now here's some things we can agree on.

            1. Floyd is NOT as fast as he was in this video anymore. This was 4 years ago in Floyd's absolute prime.

            2. His conventional guard is nowhere near as effective as his Philly/Shoulder roll.

            3. Floyd was caught with a check hook and was knocked down (glove touched the canvas, that's a KD).

            4. Manny is a few levels above Zab as far as conditioning, discipline and work-ethic goes. He will not stop punching and will attack Floyd's body once the guard is up.

            5. This was a NIGHTMARE fight for Floyd's camp. He hasn't seen a Southpaw since.

for all the imporvements Pac has made moving up in weight, Floyd also keeps looking better every fight. i know you have to back Pac if he's your hero, but boxing fans know how special Floyd is and as of right now, many of us don't see anyone out there who can beat him.

Not really, the younger lighter version of Floyd who was hungry for recognition was much better than todays Floyd.
Pac is still improving and its great to see him implement new gameplans everytime he comes out.
