  • The war to liberate Mosul(Iraq) has finally begun

    https://flashtrafficblog.wordpress.c...es-the-latest/
The good news: two years after the Islamic State swept through large swaths of north-western Syria, and seized control of upwards of one-third of Iraq, a coalition of U.S, Arab and Kurdish military forces are poised to launch a massive new battle to liberate the city of Mosul, Iraq’s second largest
“A successful conquest would destroy ISIS’s last bastion of power in the country, and represent a serious blow to its legitimacy,” the British paper notes. “Some 30,000 Iraqi troops are expected to take part in the battle, with support from US special forces and western coalition warplanes.”
I suspect that this will be the bloodiest and most damaging one yet, even worse than Aleppo. If Isis loses this one it's all downhill from here.

But the bloodlust is real. I hope that a lot of the Isis rats are captured alive so that vigilante groups of the victims in Mosul will get their revenge.

Well said. Isis has always been difficult to fight mainly because of their suicide bombs.

Some updates after 5+ months. They've taken back over half of the city including most of the major points.

It's been picking up some more steam the past couple of weeks.

The UN said in late January that almost half of all the casualties in Mosul were civilians. At least 1,494 have been killed and 1,219 injured across Nineveh province since the start of October.
Should anybody give a ****? These are the folks who love being ruled by Isis and sold out their non-sunni neighbors, some who they knew for decades and they just threw them under the bus to get taken by Isis. Let these sunni's fry. Their women can shit out a kid within seconds anyway, bunch of rabbits. I just hope they don't sneak into the west as 'refugees'.
