Super Joe retiring is a little bittersweat for me...

... kinda like the ending in the Lord of the Rings movies (I watched them the other week). You know, on the one hand I'm glad that it finishes with a happy ending and he's still undefeated and he beat everyone he had to in order to gain the respect he was looking for from all of the rational thinking people amongst us. But on the other hand, like when Frodo and Gandalf get on that big fancy boat at the end and leave the other 3 little hobbits on the shore, it made me sad as hell then when I realized they would never be coming back, and that it was truly the end of an era, and I have the exact same feeling right now with Joe. There will be no replacement for it, there's just gonna be one huge empty gap where he used to be. Maybe an ugly Carl Froch brawl every couple of months, but that alone isn't really enough to lighten the mood.

So long Frodo and Gandalf. So long Joe. I miss you already.

I'm going to miss seeing him fight, but I wish him well. He's given us some great boxing performances!
