How is Ortiz a strong champion?

He has not even made one defence. And has only had one fight at 147lbs.

    Maybe strong by Floyd standards

If he wants to be seen as the best boxer in the world, then he has to get in the ring and beat Manny Pacquiao, beating Ortiz won't give him that accolade.

Too late Floyd, Manny has taken p4p king title away from you and beating Ortiz is not going to be enough for you to take the title of Pacquiao and in your heart of hearts you know this too.

Floyd likes a challenge, that is a joke Ellerbe, Cotto, Margarito, Williams, Martinez and Pacquiao disprove that theory. Beaten someone that Maidana made quit and Petterson outboxed is not a great challenge for Floyd, or is it?

Look at it this way. If Floyd is not going to fight Pac or Martinez then who else? And don't mention any Arum promoted fighters cuz you know that will not happen. Also, don't worry about Ortiz fighting Pac. Cuz knowing Arum and co. they'll have Pac fight Ortiz whether he wins or loses.

Cotto, Khan, Bradley and Alvarez are tougher fights and bigger fights than Ortiz.

I thought Ellerbe was supposedly kicked out...anyway I'm lookin forward to this, Ortiz is a good young champ and deserves his time in the sun and I love watching Floyd fight so seein him back in the ring is great for me personally and for the sport, as he brings a huge amount of attention to Boxing.

It would be great for Ortiz to put on a good show and gain a good fanbase win, lose or draw as that can only help Boxing as a sport.

Cotto is promoted by Arum and is going to fight Marg is Dec. Not only that but he is damaged goods since the Marg and Pac fights. Beating Cotto only proves that Floyd can beat Manny's leftovers.

Khan is going to fight Zab. At 140. He hasn't done anything worth any merit at 147.

Bradley may be looking to sign with Arum. Which may be the reason why he passed on a Khan fight. He's probably hoping that Arum will match him with Pac.

Alverez is 20 and has a bright future. So if you honestly think that DLH is going to risk his present and future golden boy against Floyd you're crazy. Has Floyd chosen to fight Canelo he'd be getting way more hate than he is getting now.

what i don't understand is how ortiz suddenly became a top notch champion and have "proven" so

this is the guy who went life and death with andre berto who honestly hasn't really beaten anybody worthy of being called an "elite". the kid is still "green" but has the attributes of becoming a great champ. at this point however, he hasn't proven jack no title defense nada. at least he'll be getting a good paycheck

who has pacquiao been fighting??? 3 of floyds leftovers, then cotto at catch weight and after he was beaten by margarito and let's not forget he had no coach..margarito got damaged by mosley then pac had his turn..hatton was done floyd took all he had..de la hoya came in weight drained also floyds leftover..mosley also floyds leftover and old..clottey was told not to punch back...and now jmm at a catch weight again woww.

You see none of the fighters was in their prime when paccy fought them..ortiz is..pac likes them at catch weight and this is the proof that duckqiao is a cheating coward who loves catch weight fights..

the REASONS why Pacquiao is considered the CATCHWEIGHT KING!

Floyd Mayweather fought De La Hoya at 154LBS

Pacquiao fought De La Hoya at 147LBS (DLH didn't fight at 147 in almost 10YRS)

Pacquiao fought Cotto at 145LBS for a 147LBS title (but why DLH at 147LBS?)

Pacquiao fought Margarito at 150LBS for a 154LBS title

Freddie Roach just stated they would fight Martinez IF Martinez drops to 147LBS (why not 154LBS if Manny holds a title at 154LBS?)

all those FACTS are the reasons.

                    dont use logic with pactars,

if khan beat zab he is next that fight will make 50m for floyd UK fans buy PPV's and sell out arenas
