like clottey-cotto? clottey had to drop the ibf belt before fighting cotto?

i've read some people post that diego dropped the belt because he wanted to move up to 135. it came from floyd haters though. they try to say diego was weight drained at 130 and state the dropping the 130 belt to move up to 135 as proof that diego was weight drained.

    don't know.

if they aren't the current , defending world champion then you didn't beat a world champion right?

i'm boxrec worn out. there might be more. i'm just going off of memory.
yeah I understand your points now, I came into this thread recklessly and paid the price!

I think the article was "fought" not beat as well come to think of it.

he wanted Floyd period I asked him that while he was still with us

and fair enough bro I personally, and with heavy bias, would call him a champ Floyd faced because he didnt lose it and it was at the same weight class that he fought for Floyd's belt

i would too. just going off of technical details.

diego was a monster at 130.

i thought diego might kill floyd. at the time diego was a monster plus floyd was saying so much personal stuff and diego was rightfully very mad.

Just to keep things in perspective.
and just to keep things into perspective, mayweather would have to get belts in the jr middleweight and middle weight to accomplish what pacquiao did...and keep in mind, floyd has the size to fight in those divisions, but i believe floyd jr dont have the guts to challenge a belt champ or lineal champ in those divisions.

please note: beating delahoya for his belt doesnt count because delahoya had a record of like 3-7 in his last 10 fights prior to fighting floyd jr

                    Floyd Mayweather Jr.
                    Genaro Hernandez WBC/LINEAL 130
                    Jose Luis Castillo WBC 135
                    Arturo Gatti WBC 140
                    Zab Judah IBF 147
                    Carlos Baldomir WBC/RING/LINEAL 147
                    Oscar DeLaHoya WBC 154

                    Manny Pacquiao
                    Chatchai Sasakul WBC/LINEAL 112
                    Lehlo Ledwaba IBF 122
                    Marco Antonio Barrera RING/LINEAL 126
                    Juan Manuel Marquez WBC 130
                    David Diaz WBC 135
                    Ricky Hatton RING/LINEAL 140
                    Miguel Cotto WBO 147

If you just want to count wins over RING/LINEAL champions - Pacquiao 3 , Mayweather 2

                    Floyd Mayweather Jr.
                    Genaro Hernandez LINEAL 130
                    Carlos Baldomir RING/LINEAL 147

                    Manny Pacquiao
                    Chatchai Sasakul LINEAL 112
                    Marco Antonio Barrera RING/LINEAL 126
                    Ricky Hatton RING/LINEAL 140

i wouldnt count baldomir as a true lineal champ...he was more of a one hit wonder type of champ...its not like he defended his belt half a dozen times.

i'd say pacquiaos win over david diaz for diaz's lightweight belt is more impressive and more of a quality win than floyd jrs win over baldomir

btw, floyd jr has 5 belts in 5 different weight classes to pacquaio's 7...delahoya has 6
