Here are some interesting quote on the subject by Austrian economist Ludwig von Mises, a true expert on the subject

"The incomparable success of Marxism is due to the prospect it offers of fulfilling those dream-aspirations and dreams of vengeance which have been so deeply embedded in the human soul from time immemorial. It promises a Paradise on earth, a Land of Heart's Desire full of happiness and enjoyment, and—sweeter still to the losers in life's game—humiliation of all who are stronger and better than the multitude." Socialism

"The captain is the consumer…the consumers determine precisely what should be produced, in what quality, and in what quan******…They are merciless egoistic bosses, full of whims and fancies, changeable and unpredictable. For them nothing counts other than their own satisfaction…In their capacity as buyers and consumers they are hard-hearted and callous, without consideration for other people…Capitalists…can only preserve and increase their wealth by filling best the orders of the consumers… In the conduct of their business affairs they must be unfeeling and stony-hearted because the consumers, their bosses, are themselves unfeeling and stony-hearted."Human Action

Do we agree with Prof. von Mises?

Hmm, the thought "hires" the labour but thought is just thought. Labour is action, action produces wealth

Action is the combination of thought and labor imo. Labor by itself, without a goal (thought), is meaningless.

We need to privatize, privatize, privatize. People need to stop lecturing America telling them to be like other countries that are smaller. We need to be different.

You want Socialist healthcare with the whole system inflated, go to those countries.

If you're a strong, self-reliant, individual you need to come to America. That's where we need to go to. Let all the other countries pussify their population and be dependent on them, paying taxes left and right from income to sales tax.

Lets abolish the income tax, cut spending, and return to Free Market principles. Everything the Government touches, it fuks up. From healthcare to education. No mixed Economy, lets have pure Capitalism as the Austrian Economists would want us to have.

Lets abolish medicare, medicaid, social security and privatize everything. Deregulate so the entrepreneurs can have a easier time opening up a business and hiring, instead of paying millions in liabilities and compliance before hiring someone. We need America to have the smallest government in the world with the most amount of Capital. Productive Jobs where stuff gets built, not artificial jobs where people just work for the sake of working.

America shouldn't just be the land of the free, but the land of the strong, bring some character back to this country. And not a bunch of dependent welfare cases and Liberal politicians who invent a new right every day and pass a legislation around it.

          FTW CAPITALISM.

Only a mixed system can allow for wealth production without forcing "workers" to have no capital other than their labour.
I agree with this. I'm a capitalist, but by no means think it should be 100% that way. Everything run by for profit companies. No public parks, beaches, etc. In the past, you used to have to pay to the fire department, if you didn't, they didn't help you. You just have to find a balance between the two systems.

This is important. If everything is private everything is for sale. Compare Chicago's waterfront to Toronto's. Chicago has banned development on the waterfront, Toronto has not. As a result Toronto's harbourfront is a mess of condo highrises. No public parks or beaches means these monstrosities everywhere.
