  • Is Stevenson kind of at the end of the road here?

The guy is about 40 years old in a weak ass division where either he or Kovalev are the best guys so he either A. loses to one of these mando or obscure opponents or becomes obscure by winning fights no ones cares about B. fights Kovalev and wins becoming the man C. Loses to Kovalev and becomes just another guy at LHW like Pascal was before this fight before he retires in a couple years.

Don't see such a great future progression for him at this point.

He's fighting proven opponents. Stevenson is still out there, until then he is doing what he is supposed to

Not lately he isn't, he's fighting Sukhotsky and Sakio Bika, a SMW who isn't even ranked in the top 10 at 168.

I just get the sense that Kovalev without even fighting Stevenson has usurped his position as the real champion and Stevenson has fallen to this increasingly distant position as #2 paper title holder.

Bika is a live dog but someone Stevenson should dominate. Anything less than a dominant decision win or a stoppage and his stock drops further I think.

Actually, the pimp is done at the top level in the 175 division... Kovalev beats him... Beterbiev sends him to the hospital...

But, wait: the pimp was highly trained by Steward... The pimp is still able to provide attractive shows in that Al Haymon scheme...

Like a Lucian Bute a local fan favorite who will bring in a big gate but not a world recognized guy if this keeps up.

He won't face the krusher, he'll get a couple of gimme fights and retire to "tend to family or personal matters, which are more important blah, blah, blah" you'll see.
