First of all you can take off any asian circuit fighters on competition level alone.

Secondly the answer is Tyson and it's not even close. Everyone else gets tagged too much. (Does Terry Norris count as an inside fighter?)

No way it's Tyson. He is often assumed to be an inside fighter because of his size and aggressive style. But he was better from the outside with his speed and explosiveness. He was relatively easy to tie up on the inside. Even if you think he was the best heavyweight ever, Frazier and Marciano were better on the inside. I'd rate others on that list higher on a P4P basis as well.

Roberto Duran all the way. Just watch his fight with Palomino. Infighting masterpiece.

I heard Teddy Atlas say Tyson hated fighting inside and he even initiated many of the clinches in his fights to avoid it.

Dick Tiger was very skilled coming forward when he was fighting aggressively.

This list has to be redacted and abridged. Swarmers are a different category than infighters....Infighters can be swarmers and can stand as a category itself, but infighting and swarming cannot be used as the same category reliably with this list of fighters!

Armstrong, Marciano, Pryer, Frazier are a few fighters who are swarmers....I may have excluded some. Dempsey maybe, not Tyson, not Duran. These guys were punchers and though they may have had great endurance they got you by catching you with excellent punches, not with overwhelming you physically. Watch an Armstrong fight and a Duran fight....Two of the best but going about it very differently.

Watch Holyfield or Frazier....guys who kept coming creating an opening through pressure....then watch Tyson, or Dempsey...guys who look to connect with big punches and finish.
