  • Floyd could have had a DQ loss to Judah?

In light of what happened last night in the Kirkland-Molina fight, do you think Floyd should have been DQ'd for Roger storming the ring and attacking Zab? Molina's cornerman/trainer just briefly stepped inside the ring while the ref was counting and the fight was called a DQ due to it.

Can somebody with good knowledge of the rules break it down? What's the difference between those two fights? Is it to the refs discretion?

edit:ref was Richard Steele, same guy from the Chavez-Taylor 1 fight.

The difference is that one was Floyd Mayweather and the other was Carlos Molina.

        Different rules for different fighters.

But what I want to know is what the rule states, is it up to the ref to make the decision?

Something worth noting is that Zab could have easily been DQ'd for his dirty actions as well.

Anybody remember what ref that was?

It's not really under the ref discretion.

The ref last night did not know the rule.

What Roger did should have been a DQ'd against Floyd. He broke the rule. However, common sense the DQ would have been wrong on so many levels. But, by the letter of the rule he should have been DQ'd.

By the letter of the rule Molina should NOT have been DQ'd. His cornerman did nothing wrong. And, using common sense as well he shouldn't have been DQ'd. Hell by the letter of the rule the cornerman did the right thing.
