  • Is Showtime Boxing Dead? Stephen Epsinoza Ran Showtime Boxing Into The Ground?

Showtime has always been building their boxing program and playing 2nd teir to HBO boxing but when they signed on Mayweather over from HBO grasp and with that bringing along all of GBP fighters exclusively to Showtime it looked like finally after the long battle with HBO for the right to call themselves the "Premiere Network for Boxing" was within grasp. They kicked off the year 2013 with one of the best years in boxing in a very long time but since then they have slowly came to a tremendous stop in momentum.

Now only displaying a very few selects fights out of a very small pool of fighters (afforded to them by Haymon Boxing PBC), and with rumors that haymon boxing is looking to sign with Fox as it exclusive network this will leave showtime with almost near to nothing in terms of promoters to go to.

Bascially Showtime is stuck hoping PBC and fox deal fails, Hoping that Arum hate for the new VP of HBO boxing will truly drive him to showtime to have a boxing program, IDK but hoping that things go south in order for your boxing program to be relevant and not completely die is not a solid buisness plan lol.

    What you guys think, DISCUSS

Showtime already aired Wilder-Szpilka, have the Frampton-Quigg fight for the end of February, have Thurman-Porter and Broner-Theophane for March, have Jack-Chavez Jr for April (possibly paired with Degale-Uzcategui), and Wilder-Povetkin for June for the first half of the year (in addition to at least 8 ShoBox cards).

What does HBO's schedule look like for the first half of the year? lol

And nice try, manufacturing a rumor that you've decided to make up out of thin air.

Who knows. On the face of it Espinoza looks like a dickhead now. But PBC could be dead by christmas and all those Haymon fighters could be back on Showtime. We have to wait and see.

he used the word possibly. Him and imdazed are the two most insufferable Phaggot fanboys on here.

when the schedule gets confirmed, I earnestly hope you look at Showtime's schedule, compare that to what ends up being HBO's schedule, and make an honest assessment of things.

                  HBO vs Showtime groupies

There's no indication that Sho boxing is dead.
