I do know that the first mexican middleweight champion he is not.....The first one was Oscar De La Hoya whom by the time he fought Felix Sturm in 2004 was already a Mexican citizen (yes he got the mexican citizenship from the president of mexico) So that would make him a Mexican.
Oscar went on to beat Sturm in a controversial decision to capture the WBO 160 pounds

Anybody can be a "champ" when they make a belt for you and you have to fight a Zbik for the "title". LMAO @ son of legend..

Chavez will get a paper title, nothing more.
Like said already, Martinez was the champ... Sulaimnan knew Julio jr. wouldn't have a snowball's chance against him so he thought of a construction to put in a beatable "champ" (enter Zbik).
Now we all know Zbik has to knock Chavez out or totally dominate him to remain his title wich isn't going to happen so JCC jr. is going to be "middleweight champ" this weekend. No serious boxing fan is fooled though.
