Trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. says he would have made WBC/WBA junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez go to a catch-weight of 150-pounds for the fall clash with Floyd Mayweather Jr. The match, taking place on September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, is contracted for a catch-weight of 152-pounds, which is two pounds below the junior middleweight limit. According to Canelo and his team, Mayweather first requested a weight of 147, then 150 and two sides finally agreed on 152.

fight would be easy but you want him to drain down to 150?

Of course you would..just like you made Paul Williams chase your son for 4 years and never gave him a fight. Hell this fight wouldn't have been made if it wasn't for Showtime and Oscar refusing to pay $32 million for a fight with either Khan or Alexander. I don't really like to have animosity towards athletes but these guys make it hard to like them.

Or Floyd Sr is displaying the opinion behind the skill he has passed down to his son of avoiding prime fighters and weakening anyone who poses a threat and that's why we care what he says?
