I've seem the best these two can offer in the ring, time to move on. Provodnikov or bust.

I will never understand the need for a 5th fight... People are just hoping Manny KO's Marquez or beats him to a pulp. Marquez already KO'D Manny so why do we need to see another fight? It does nothing for either of them except money. The fight probably wont even sell that much because people realize that Marquez is old now and so far out of his prime its not worth watching. Very pointless fight imo. TR 147 and 140 division is so dead. Even their 154 division is dead. GB really does have the best 140-154 divisions right now. Those are were the best fights are right now.

It’s pretty easy to see why given Pacquiao’s incredibly low pay-per-view numbers for his last fight against Brandon Rios last month. After that disaster, Arum needs a proven PPV money fighter, and the only one he’s got that he can count on to boost Pacquiao to 1 million buys and over is Marquez.

With many pacman fighting Marquez, could get expect an additional 600,000 buys at the minimum, and that’s not Pacquiao bringing those fans in. You can bet that those fans wouldn’t be paying for the fight just to see Pacquiao.

They’d be fans of Juan Manuel Marquez paying to see him destroy Pacquiao for a 2nd time time and beat arguably for the 5th straight time after having lost twice by controversial decisions and robbed by a draw in his first fight with manny pacquiao. A lot of the fans would be paying to see Marquez put Pacquiao out of his misery and sending him into a permanent retirement.
Maybe Marquez fans are sure he will destoy Pacquiao again but Marquex is not so sure he will win again or he would take the fight for the biggest payday of his life. It's not just Marquez the fans want to see. It's the fight between them that brings in the money. Pacquiao has more fans than Marquez.

That is a lot of money, JMM should probably take it not that he needs the money but that extra little bit certainly doesn't hurt.

I kind of question them making money on the fight even if Manny accepts a 50/50 because with where both guys are at now it is kind of questionable if they can match past results. It would be interesting to see ho that plays out.

You're clearly a guy that likes Marquez much more than Pacquiao so you are happy to see the series end with the Marquez KO. Did you forget the first fight when Pacquiao knocked him down 3 times in the first? Many referees would have given Pacquiao a KO win and Pacquiao could have never fought him again. It was Marquez that pushed so hard for a third fight and then a fourth fight. Then when Marquez gets the ending he wants he refuses to fight Pacquiao again and demands a Bradley rematch. Pacquiao was winning fight 4 before the KO.Pacquiao and his fans think he will win a 5th fight and they want to see it. What's wrong with that? I am a long time Marquez fan since before I heard of Pacquiao. Still Marquez is a sore loser and a bit of a crybaby. I think he should give the fans their wish and make huge money by giving Pacquiao the rematch he is asking for. Pacquiao gave Marquez two rematches that he wanted and Pacquiao could have just quit when he was ahead like Marquez is doing now.

The people that don't want to see a 5 th Pac-Marquez fight can just skip it. Clearly a huge number of fans do wish to see a 5th fight or Marquez would not be getting 15million dollar offers. I really believe many fans don't want a 5th fight because they are afraid Pacquiao would win it. If Pacquiao clearly beats Bradley in his next fight I think that will show that Pacquiao might be the better all around fighter.

Even if this is true, it means absolutely nothing. Marquez should have been guaranteed $15 million for the fourth fight and the third fight if they were as successful as Arum claims. If Arum is offering him a $15 million guarantee (which I seriously doubt) it is because Arum is getting desperate. There is no one else in Arum's stable for Pacquaio to fight other than Marquez that will generate more than the 400,000 PPV buys that he received against Rios. Arum has to justify to Pacquaio why he is not willing to make a fight with Mayweather while continuing to pay Pac $6 million guarantees. The only way he can do that is to make a fight with Marquez and give Pacquaio the biggest purse he has ever earned (about $20 million).

If Arum makes a fifth fight between Pacquaio and Marquez, he will, for the first time, likely have to give the fighters the majority of the profit made off of the fight. He doesn't want to do that, but if that is what it will take to get Pacquaio to sign another extension (which is what Pacquaio will have to do to get a $10 million guarantee from Arum), then that is simply the cost of doing business for Arum.
