What? My point was building a hadron collider or being a particle physicist requires more "intelligence" than selling microsoft computers... clearly nobody knows who the most intelligent person on earth is, but going from his line of work and comparing it to the jobs others do, it's probably a safe bet saying he isn't that person.
I read a long time ago that Bill Gates is one of the few in the world that uses 18% of his brain. So yes, its possible he's one of the smartest in the world, if not the smartest. You should read up upon how and why he acquired DOS from some programmer for a few thousand bucks, and to this day it still embedded in Windows. That was a clear business move, and it had nothing to do with him as a nerdy programmer. The guy is clearly extremely business savy, probably more technical savy.
