some will say the Holyifield vs Bowe! To me it was good, but it didn't have the real drama, and hatred of two fit, and skilled HW's......
Norton was bitter over the controversial losses to the GOAT.
Beating Jimmy Young made Norton the "paper championship".
Holmes was treated as pretender. A lacky from the Ali training camp.
His win over an old Shavers was considered a fluke.
Both had chips on their shoulders, and everything on the line to rule for the record books...
it turned out to be a war for the ages!
Will we ever see that again???

Always thought toney got screwed on decision in that one..

Last great HW battle is widely considered Lewis vs Vitali in 2003. The heavyweights since then just don't have it in them to have a longer grueling fight like that.

I,d actually lean towards Lewis vs Klitschko; but other fights had some drama since that great clash in 78 , though none of them truly equalled it in intensity. The one which came closest was Bows vs Holy field I. Holy field vs Tyson II could have but.....well, still pisses me off.

Liakhovich-Brewster was a better fight than Lewis-Vitali.

Bowe-Holyfield 1 was a classic, and arguably it wasn't the best HW fight of 92'. Moorer-Cooper was the same year
