No sport is about who the best is at exercising except for the phaggy time crossfit games on ESPN.

But it's time to wake up and get with the times.
Then what would your recommended updated training methods be.

Not trying to be a dick, just genuinely interested on new training methods for boxing.

I've seen plenty of boxers training.

Boxing from a physical standpoint along with MMA is Power/Endurance Power/Recovery.

Heck they used to use smelling salts to revive fighters in their corners back in the day.

        cannot be overstated

i played hockey for 15-20 years
i saw guys get knocked out cold. i've knocked both boys and men out myself, unfortunately.

        smelling salts WORK
they fucking work. i have never been in a state where i've needed them, but i've seen them extensively.

you used to be able to scrape a fighter off of the canvas when the bell rang as well. you could carry him back to the corner when he was virtually unconscious and on the ground. or if he was out on his feet you could assist him back to the corner.

they'd hit him with the salts and get water on his head and if he was in shape and a great fighter he would have a chance of working his way back into a fight after being all but out cold.

If I were boxing my routine would consist of

          Sprints
          Oly Lifts
          Compound Lifts
          Calisthenics/Accessory Work
          Stretching

So as a template I'd do something like this

          Earlier in the day

          Sprints - 100 meters x 8-10

          For the actual routine

          Dynamic Stretching - 10 minutes

Power Cleans 7x3 @ progressively higher weights

          Barbell Row 12, 10, 8, 6

          Chins- Bodyweight 20, 20, 20, 20

          Stretching - Cooldown

                    No they don't

What the hell is a "bodybuilding exercise"? Bodybuilding is a way of training. There are no bodybuilding exercises. An exercise performed a certain way for a certain amount of reps the reason behind doing it is what is important.

Power Cleans are for bodybuilders? Good God. Talk about ******ed statements.

You're a fuking idiot my friend.

No I criticized the use of solely calisthenics for hundreds of reps.

Jesus and you call me ******ed. You can't even read
