I will say this, I think white America does hate the egotistical, loud black athlete more than any other race of athlete.
He made a good point with Chael Sonnen. Imagine if Sonnen was as good as Jones, and talked the way he did, he would be incredibly popular among most of the UFC fans, I have no doubt in that.
Look at Floyd Mayweather, he has some of the same hatred come at him. Now boxing is different because it's a more ethnic sport, meaning there's more diversity in boxing than in MMA. I know this because when I attend boxing shows, and MMA shows you can see the difference in the stands.
In MMA, there's a lot of those white dudes with Affliction t-shirts on, or the biker types etc...
While I don't agree with everything Joe Rogan says, I do think there's something to it. I'm not defending Jon Jones, because he does seem to come off as fake, but Sonnen was much louder and obnoxious and fans LOVED him in the UFC, and when he was fighting Silva, they rooted for him in droves.
