What could have been done to make Pac's welterweight run less stale?

When it comes to Floyd, people often bring up the fact that he never fought PWill, Margarito, Tszyu and a few others to add a polishing touch to his elite WW resume. Those fights just never came to fruition.

But who are the guys that Pac should have maybe fought in order to make his welterweight run seem a little more substantial? Surely there are some great candidates.

It's not a good look when Bradley and a drained Miguel Cotto are your best wins at WW.

I think if he had beaten Bradley and Marquez (3rd fight) decisively, and had not drained Cotto, that's a solid start right there. Clottey, Mosley, Rios, and Algieri literally did nothing to boost his welterweight status.
Fight Oscar, fight Hatton, and then campaign at 140; not even sure what fighters were outside the Golden Boy orbit to consider in 2009, tbh.

No his fault tbh. GBP-TR still had beef.
Pretty sure we would've seen him against Berto or Ortiz if there wasn't any beef.

It's not garbage tbh, but it's not super elite. A lot of really good names with only 2 that stand out.
Floyd's isn't much different, but he's been there longer.

Berto or Ortiz. LOL. That would have been ****ing TARGET PRACTICE for Manny. Truth is no one outside of Marquez or Mayweather is/was a challenge to him.

For anyone to see his WW run is lackluster because he didn't get the chance to embarrass punching bags like Berto and Ortiz is asinine. Flush your head down the toilet. (not you, persay Porter.)

'drained' Cotto is better than anything Mayweather did at 147, besides maybe beating Pac himself.

I mentioned those 2 names because Floyd fans brought them up in names of "elite" fighters Pacquiao didn't face lmao.

Im not sure how anyone can mention that version of Mosely, Baldimor and Ortiz as good wins while keeping a straight face.

Good thread, but Clottey was a good win for Pacquiao. I personally find that fight fishy, but I can't knock the win at all.
