Cricket and rugby have the best fans, and it's not even close. Not many sports where fans are mixed and served alcohol in the stadium yet consistently have zero crowd trouble.

Pretty sure they do that in all the American sports. All that equates to is a lack of passion/rivalry between fans in my book. I suppose the Barmy Army aren't too bad but they're no greater than your average set of football (soccer) fans.

We might not be great at actually playing a lot of sports, but as fans I think the English/Irish take a lot of beating. In any sport.

If that's in response to me, it's not quite the same. Cricket and rugby are team sports, where you are either a fan of one or the other. In sports involving only 2 teams/participants, it's very rare that those fans are allowed to drink alcohol and socialise without any sort of trouble. It happens, and NASCAR is a decent enough example of drunk fans mixing well, but like I said, it's very rare.

It wasnt, but I would like to learn more about rugby some day, I say nascar cause it has a huge following and I cant quite place it... American Football is huge but its fans are split by cities, Nascar fans find favorites but seem to root for the race.
