  • Are multiple champs per weight class better?

I wondered if multiple champions are better or worse for the quality of matches in a weight class.

Klitschko had nearly unified the division for a long stretch of time and while his reign wasnt bad at all (bar Leapai, Pianeta and Mormeck), all the other contenders didnt fight against each other, because they were afraid of losing the klitschko pay day.

Now that klitschko lost against fury and the ibf had to be vacated, it seems to me that we get much better fights at heavyweight than before.

    and on the horizon:
    Anthony Joshuas first defense
    Luis Ortiz return
MAYBE David Haye in with a good boxer

And at the end of the year some constellation of:
    Fury/Klitschko/Wilder/Povetkin/Joshua/Haye
