Judging by the bright colors of clothing in the first pic, I'd say that person died in the late 80's/early 90's

they wear bright colors so they can see each other in serious snow and wind.

modern mountaineering equipment is often yellow, red, bright green, etc.


that said, you could very well be right. those guys in the death zone are permanent residents, and the gear looks old.

This guy was George Mallory, he fell off a cliff and disappeared in 1924 and may have been the first one to reach the summit of Everest, his body was found and confirmed in 1999.
